Meet the Local: Jocelyn Day

Today we meet Jocelyn Day, a Lincolnshire local who lives in Louth.

Tell me a bit about yourself?
I’m Jocelyn, 29 years old and I live in Louth.

Have you always lived in Lincolnshire?
I’ve always lived in Lincolnshire, studied in Lincolnshire and worked here!

What is your favourite thing to do in the area?
I would have to say my favourite thing to do in the area is just be outside, whether that’s exploring fields and woodland or the coasts wonderful beaches. Biscathorpe has one of the most beautiful scenes.

Where are you favourite places to shop?
I’m a charity shopper, so Louth, Lincoln and Grimsby have some good places to hunt for bargains. But, we’re also lucky to have a lot of lovely independent shops / businesses around! Louth also has the BEST cheese shop!

Where is your favourite place to eat?
Oooh, fave place to eat…that’s hard! Bambarinosin Manby, The Bobbin in Cleethorpes, Siam Orchid in Louth and Cafe Shanti in Lincoln….I love my food!

Tell me what a perfect Lincolnshire day would look like to you?
A perfect Lincolnshire day would be good weather, a nice walk in the countryside, followed by a pint at the local.

If someone was new to the area what would be the first thing you’d tell them to do / check out?
If someone was new to the area, I’d say have a day in Lincoln, explore the history, the Cathedral, the bars and the shops!

Anderby Creek is probably my favourite beach, I would say to anyone go check it out!

If you could change one thing about Lincolnshire what would it be?
I’d change peoples mindsets…….there is a lot of beauty in Lincolnshire, it’s not just farming (which I get people saying to me in big cities)!

Do you have a “go to” place to chill out, relax and unwind?
I love a social gathering, so there’s some great pubs in Louth which are wonderful for a pint and a wind down!

What is the best thing about living in Lincolnshire?
I think the best thing about living up here is everything I’ve already mentioned but also, no matter where you go, it’s always nice to come home!

Thank you Jocelyn for giving us a view into your world!
