Values

Values aren’t something I’d every really given much thought to. However, recently my friend, and motivational coach Claudia Mangeac talked about how we should take more time to think about our values so here are mine:

🌸 Honesty

🌸 Growth

🌸 Loyalty

🌸 Goodness

🌸 Happiness

🌸 Freedom

I didn’t realise but I was already living my life by my values but not really thinking about it. When I actually sat down and thought about them it made sense.

When I was living life according to my values life felt good, when something felt wrong or life wasn’t going according to plan it was usually because I wasn’t aligned with my personal values.

Now that I am clear on what my values are it makes it a lot easier for me to make decisions that help me move forward in life.

They help me in both my work and in my personal life.

I also think that your values can change. I don’t know what other people think about this? But life changes, situations change me sometimes that means what you valued when you were 18 may not be the same at 36.

I’d love to hear what your values are?

  1. Always good that people have values, there are the Nolan values, these are values that are dealing with public office,
The 7 principles of public life
    Selflessness.
    Integrity.
    Objectivity.
    Accountability.
    Openness.
    Honesty.
    Leadership.

But, values will always change regarding priority, I would put someone first, before me, but that action may be harmful to my health, there by contradicting a personal value, however if these values didn’t constantly change, then we would not evolve.
I guess for me, it is integrity, to be honest, even if it makes me unpopular. Certainly if safety is involved, then friendship might get pushed to one side. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one.
Good blog, and excellent discussion points.
