I was recently contacted by Louise from the Keelby Pod for Blankets for the Homeless to raise awareness of their campaign.
Blankets for the Homeless make hats, gloves, scarves and blankets for the homeless and local shelters and they are currently looking at starting a Cleethorpes Pod.
In 2018 Louise knitted 150 items for their local refuge which is amazing and they’re hoping to smash this target this year and she’s looking for people who would like to help.
The project is run all year round but their busiest time is after Christmas. There are a number of ways to get involved, if you can knit, crochet, make pompoms, Louise would love to hear from you. You can make scarves, hats, blankets or even squares which can then be made into blankets.
Blankets for Homeless have also been working with local business Cobweb Crafts who are making shoe boxes for Not Home Alone at Christmas and for the Womens Refuge.
It’s great to spread some love especially at this time of the year so if you’d like to get involved please go to the Blankets for the Homeless Keelby Pod Facebook Page and Louise will give you more info on how to help.
